Backyard living is Green Scene’s name for the built part of a yard: the patio and what stands on it, the walls, the fire, the water, the lighting and the surfaces underfoot. The company designs and builds it for homes across Williamson County and in Green Hills, Belle Meade, Forest Hills and Nashville, anything from a single stamped walk to a yard with a pergola, an outdoor kitchen and a putting green.
Where does a backyard project start?
With a walk around the yard and a number. Jose Garcia owns the company and still does the quoting and designing himself. Bring a blueprint and he’ll price it line by line; bring nothing and the design team will draw a plan to fit the yard and your budget. Before a line is drawn, the crew looks at how water crosses the lot and what’s growing near the work, and every paver job starts with a stabilized, leveled base. Permits and HOA guidelines are settled before anyone digs.
We’re creative, experienced professionals who understand a budget is a real number!

Why plan the whole yard even if you build one piece?
Because most backyards fill in over several summers. The patio comes first, then a fire pit, then lights so it’s usable after dark, then maybe a water feature or a green. When the gas line, the wiring and the drainage are drawn on day one, each later piece slots in without breaking up finished stone, and Green Scene builds every stage ready for the next.
The Westhaven yard in Franklin is that plan carried all the way through, with a kitchen, a fire pit and an artificial green gathered around one pergola and lit for evenings. In Brentwood the centerpiece is a fireplace of stacked stone, its patio shaded by cedar beams. Between them those two jobs use most of the services above, and more of the Brentwood patio is in the project gallery. The groundwork behind all of it is on the hardscapes and design page.
Who will you deal with along the way?
Four people, by name. Teresa Garcia, who grew up in Franklin, schedules the work and runs the office. Cristian Garcia handles sales, and you’ll also see him dropping off materials at the site and helping on the install. Antonio Estrada keeps you up to date during construction and stays your contact once it’s done. And Jose is usually the one who walked the yard with you in the first place.
